The influential and experimental college student demographic is at the top of the list for Found Guilty's efforts to reduce fentanyl overdose deaths. They must rapidly grasp our point and be willing to share it with others.
The Alpenglow Festival in Bozeman, Montana this year provided an excellent opportunity to put up a booth and strike up direct interactions with Montana State University students, who range in age from 18 to 23 on average.
Our sincere gratitude goes out to the kind Montana State University students who manned the booth!
Don't Pass Pills
The Found Guilty name and logo are undoubtedly memorable, but what is the 30-second elevator pitch that you would provide to a college student who asks, "What is Found Guilty?"
As with anything in life, practice makes perfect, and this particular event provided Found Guilty with some excellent practice. Additionally, you only have around 8 seconds to capture a consumer's attention in today's world or with today's consumers before they go on to the next thing.
We all can thank Steve Jobs and the iPhone for our minuscule attention span!
Here's the dialogue and our initial 8 seconds, which leads to 30 seconds, which hopefully leads to minutes and a genuine interest:
College Student: "What's Found Guilty?"
Found Guilty: "It's about fentanyl overdoses and not passing pills around. Most recreational pill users are not aware they can now be charged with murder."
8 seconds is up
College Student: "Wait, what do you mean passing pills around and murder?"
Found Guilty: "You might not be aware, but over 200 people a day die from fentanyl overdoses in America, many of which are innocent teens or young adults, not addicts. They think they are taking an Adderall, Zanex, Oxy or even X, and then boom, it's laced with fentanyl and they die.
College Student: "So what's the murder part?"
Found Guilty: "Because the fentanyl crisis has become so bad, prosecutors across the nation are now filing murder charges against the supplier, even if the supplier of the pill was a friend or acquaintance and simply passed the pill to the victim, having no knowledge it was laced with fentanyl."
30 seconds is up
College Student: "That's crazy, I haven't heard about this. Is that legal, what states, I know a friend..."
Now we have a genuine interest - #DontPassPills
The Found Guilty Cooler Raffle
We felt it would be a fantastic idea to raffle off the first official Found Guilty cooler while discussing the aforementioned topic with college students present at the event.
We delivered the cooler to the fortunate kid who had won the raffle. On a raft drifting down the Madison, at a backyard barbecue, or even in the back of a truck for a long road journey, this cooler will look excellent.
One thing is for sure, our winner will definitely get asked, "What's Found Guilty?", and he is well aware he has 8 seconds!
We have no doubt that pill passing will decrease if young people in America are aware of the potential repercussions of doing so, and eventually lives will be spared.
